Florida bans the Diary of Anne Frank. A literary classic that serves as a cautionary tale about the rise of fascism and the importance of documenting atrocities as they’re occurring. We all must document this time in history. Keep copies. Write everything down. Make sure that the truth will out.

Disability will happen to almost everyone. Most people are only temporarily abled. It’s not a moral failing. It’s not a choice people make. The human body is frail. It only takes one illness, accident or stroke of bad luck to forever change your health.

When people tell someone with disabilities to “just try harder”, they’re showcasing their own fear. They can’t accept that there’s illnesses from which you never recover. They can’t cope with the frailty of the human body. They need to make it a personal failing so THEY can remain in denial.

If you want to start masking again and need guidance, look for a local mask bloc! They’re volunteer run organizations that give out high quality respirators to those who can’t afford them. N95s aren’t just for wildfire smoke, they protect against airborne viruses too!

Living with chronic illness is an exercise in patience. You must learn to be patient with your body. You must learn to rest when you don’t want to. You must learn to accept a loss of control. You must learn to deal with the unrelenting pain of being abandoned by those who should care for you.

When you’re disabled, people will treat you like you’re broken. They’ll act like you’re in the wrong no matter what you do. They will insinuate you could “try harder”. They will blame you for their discomfort. Your disability is not your fault. People just can’t face it.

Everyone deserves healthcare. It’s a basic human right. Making it contingent on someone’s ability to work or produce for capitalism is ableism at its most dangerous. The eugenicist system makes it nearly impossible for disabled people to survive… and it’s designed this way on purpose.

As a white woman, I was repeatedly denied a hysterectomy despite having life threatening bleeding that put me in hospital every month. Black and indigenous women are still sterilized against their will. Or “mistakes” like this happen. Racism is rampant in healthcare. apnews.com/article/labe...

A man will rape a child, force impregnate her and then the State will deny her the legal right to end the pregnancy. She’s violated twice. Once by the pedophile and again when forced to give birth to his baby. The rapist almost never gets punished. This should enrage you.
