Christian McWhirter

In Nova Scotia for Canada Day and am truly delighted to be here.

Excited to announce that today I'm starting a new career as a historical consultant. Very much looking forward to working on exhibits, written content, programs, and outreach with partners, old and new. 🗃️

PARADISE LOST HARD ❌ As one great Furnace flam'd, yet from those flames No light, but rather darkness visible EASY ✅ Hell is hard to describe

So, this Elsinore movie is just a remake of Strange Brew, right?

"Tell Cersei it was me"

Look what came in the mail! Honored to be included among so many amazing scholars and thanks to @civilwarjon.bsky.social for asking me to write a fun piece about my weird Lincoln fact-checking adventures.

I refuse to do the "9 Games That Made Me" thing because Civil War Generals 2 isn't selectable

I love this movie so damn much and I knew my daughter shared my sense of humor when she loved it too. (anyway Rabin is, as usual, dead on here)

Carefully plotting generations of elite feudal landholders to install a permanent monarchical dynasty over Medieval Central Europe.

Extremely grateful to @civilwarjon.bsky.social for including me in this volume alongside scholars whose stars are much brighter than mine. I had a blast writing my piece on the crazy Lincoln fact-checking I've had to do over my career.

Since moving to Nova Scotia, I've joined the board of the Dartmouth Heritage Museum, which is headquartered in Creighton's house, and I've been learning a lot about her. Really fascinating and complicated person. I might write something about her one day.

How did I never put 2+2 together that Raymond Massey was from the Toronto Massey family? Pretty sure he's referenced on SCTV a few times, which should have been my other clue. Anyway, he's probably my third favorite Lincoln, in the 3rd-best Lincoln movie. But still pretty good!
