IMO many Americans don't even buy guns for personal protection or to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. They simply have a shopping addiction

On October 31, 2023, I tweeted a link to a story I wrote for Politico about how I interviewed three bespoke shoemakers, who said they think Ron DeSantis is wearing lifts. On January 21, 2024, Ron DeSantis dropped out of the Republican primary for President.
On June 11th, 2024, Rishi Sunak tweeted: "You will always be better at spending your own money than the government is." I retweeted him and said "I think your wardrobe proves this is not true." About a month later, Sunak lost his election.
On September 2023, I posted a photo of NYC Mayor Eric Adams, noting that he should have worn over-the-calf socks. In September 2025, Adams abandoned his re-election bid.
On May 2026, I retweeted a video of Spencer Pratt, noting that male politicians should not wear black dress shirts. I wrote: "dont know anything about spencer pratt. but imo it's not a good idea for male politicians to wear black dress shirts, which were historically associated with seedy nightclub owners and criminals. does not inspire trust." A month later, Nithya Raman surged past Pratt in the LA mayoral race, putting her up for the election against Karen Bass.

Photos of newly arrived immigrants at Ellis Island. Augustus Sherman took the photos between 1902 and 1920 when he worked as the Chief Registry Clerk. Striking to me how the outfits all look good because they have a discernible silhouette (shape and drape).

Met a young person who can't find a job bc of AI. His elderly mom is sick and needs home care. He drives Uber to pay rent, but is barely getting by. I told him the White House pool is going to be longer than US skyscrapers and he burst out crying. "Thank you sir," he said, "I needed that."
