on the surface Elon’s purchase of Twitter has made the need for open networks (somewhat) clear to consumers, but I’m not convinced this was net more effective for the movement for open protocols

just watched a video on Obsidian that described it as "future-proof," i.e. it uses open file formats so you can easily migrate to a different note-taking app & you're not locked in. could borrow that to explain bluesky decentralized → open → billionaire-proof → future-proof

personal update: today is my last day with the Bluesky team! this is bittersweet news to share, but the great thing about an open network is you never really have to leave. I’ll be rooting for Bluesky and atproto from the outside 🫡💙

Bored Cow animal-free dairy milk review: it has the creaminess of whole milk but not the sweetness. the flavor is milder but the difference is less obvious in coffee. it's not a true replacement for whole milk yet but i'm glad someone is working on it
