Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.

Five NFL teams chose not to honor Charlie Kirk. @modestholdings.com chose to defy the governor’s order that his county fly flags at half staff for Kirk. The fact that people are able to stick their necks out to do the right thing puts into sharper contrast just how many are not willing to do so.

My daughter has made up a pretend band with her friends and she decided their album should be called “Shattered” and she drew an album cover except at the top she spelled it SHAT TERD And it was one of those parenting moments where my wife and I deserve a medal for not laughing.

I’d almost be less offended if they’d taken more in bribes. They’re not just corrupt, they’re such cheap dates, it’d extra offensive.

So, I’m sure I would be someone some would think of as not reckoning with this, and I get it but I think that would mistake my position. I know that the people in these areas vote for policies that hurt them because their definition of what helps them is different than mine.

Just finished my first entire cryptic crossword puzzle, no hints, no assistance, every clue correct. Unreasonably proud of myself. This has been years in the making.

You ever have a thing you know is true about yourself but you can’t account for? I was just thinking about how I saw the movie Chocolat in the theater but also I was a 19 year old frat boy who would only have seen it with other 19 year old frat boys, and I can’t square those facts.

One thing that I genuinely loathe: contrived examples that nobody is confused by being used to inflame a debate over the Oxford comma, which zero people, nobody, and no one should care about a hundredth as much as anybody does.

The quotes to this (and the quotes of those quotes) are from, I’m sorry, a bunch of people who would rather endorse a bunch of snide in-group boundaries than form a coalition capable of defeating fascists, and that sucks actually.

The place I feel most out of step with Bluesky, and my little corner of it, is in rural discourse. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind or inviting anyone to change mine; it’s just consistently a bummer when the topic comes up IMO.

Most blackpilling thing living in a rural area is the right wing people opposing data centers for environmental reasons and JUST AS LOUDLY opposing solar farms for what they also believe to be environmental reasons.

I think my take is that this is what the MCU is *perceived as* a lot more than what it *is* (which FTR may be as big of a problem).

I agree that the administration is going to keep pushing on birthright citizenship, and it’s worth explicitly saying the obvious reason: because it’s a foot in the door to pawing through enemies’ family histories to declare them noncitizens and expel them.
