Politico & Punchbowl report House Republican leadership is shutting down the Rules Committee - which is essential for moving party-line bills on the floor - for the week rather than vote on Democratic amendments on the Epstein files. Dems have effectively halted Republican legislation in the House:

Democrats just defeated this bill, then Republicans pulled the War Powers Resolution vote on Iran because they didn't have the votes to defeat it. The measure is privileged in a way that requires it be brought up within a certain number of days, I *think* that will mean it comes back in early June.

The delay here is bc Republicans are unexpectedly losing the vote before the Iran resolution, on a bill to establish the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, which Dems are opposing because R's rewrote a popular bipartisan version to add rightwing poison pills. Vote has been open for 40 mins
