This thread escaped containment and I would like to use this as an opportunity to address some misconceptions about stroke as a disease and recovery thereof I noticed in the replies. I'm going to use an example from my career where I was so glad to be so wrong about a patient's prognosis.

I had the privilege of working and training under folks that responded to the pentagon on 9/11, and later with search and rescue folks that operated at the World Trade Center. The way they have to fight to be taken care of for the selfless service they provided is one of the roots of my cynicism.

I have not seen, and do not expect to see, any indication that the traveling circus of degenerates of ICE/CBP is inflicting on cities to cause a drop in support for the opposition. I think it solidifies opposition strongholds and radicalizes people by community rather than individually.
I am curious when the Democratic Party will adopt an anti corruption platform like most opposition parties to authoritarians do. Not that some haven’t tried but it is notable to me the way that it’s not stuck yet. Though there may be reasons for that too, and worth cleaning house over.
