I think this site's power users really need to grow up and accept that there's a difference between criticizing someone, even harshly, and threatening them. This is a distinction a 12-year-old could understand. No one was suspended or banned for "hurting my feelings."

In my opinion if you are mad at Jay about the waffles thing -- which I agree was heinously, grotesquely offensive and possibly illegal -- it will be hard to look yourself in the mirror unless you stop posting here forever and go start a newer, better social media platform with more safety features.

I know a subset of individuals have genuine difficulty distinguishing reality from whatever they see on here, but the idea that I would 'out' anyone is idiotic and insulting. The teenager in question signed a release form agreeing to have their image used in a story involving youth gender identity.

I genuinely don't think I've ever done a post on here that a reasonable person would consider to be 'bigotry.' Literally not one. If someone points one out to me I'm happy to consider apologizing and taking it down but I'd be surprised!
