Wow! Just made it worse! Nurses & docs would never get away with saying this to a patient that can’t afford a treatment or diagnostic test. Humans do die at some point, but they shouldn’t die because of your reckless vote in the Senate.

Saw this last night. Rep. Kiggans (R-VA) is 1 of 3 nurses in Congress (swing district). "Cotton-picking hands" as a reference to the first black congressional party leader is blatantly racist. On the last day of nurses week, our profession must wholeheartedly reject Rep. Kiggan's "Ditto".

This nurses week: it is obvious that we need to do more than just clap & celebrate nurses. We need public mobilization and action. The failure of nurses to receive the basic tools & conditions they need is not just a national embarrassment. It’s a reflection of what we fail to prioritize. #nursesky
