Any FBI agent asked to spend any time at all on the Texas quorum break had better be able to articulate the specific statute enumerating the specific federal crime they’re investigating. And any reporter giving any credibility to alleged FBI efforts had better be asking the same.
I honestly don’t think the national Rs pushing Texas understand how much fire they’re playing with. If they tick off IL enough, and CA voters enough to change CA law, that’s every single member of the Republican delegation gone. All twelve. If there are no rules, there are no rules.

Once again begging journalists to cover Thursday’s speech as the entry in a short fiction contest it will be, and to cover the associated claim of emergency powers as the wishcasting it will be. Think of how you’d cover a random bank customer claiming he has to be given the keys to the vault.
With respect, step 2 ISN’T A THING. His advisers desperately want it to be a thing. That doesn’t make it a thing. When/if he declares a “national emergency,” the state and local officials who _actually_ run elections just won’t listen. Can we please stop pretending Trump is a magical wizard?
