So, I accidentally checked off "walking corpse syndrome" in the medical history I filled out online. WCS is an very-extremely rare condition where you believe your body, or part of your body, is dead and decaying. I cannot describe to you how a nurse approached me before asking me about my WCS.

I threatened to fight a doctor today who tried to touch one of my ears (I have a horrible double ear infection). She knows me well enough to know both: (1) I was very serious; and (2) I would never. So that's going swimmingly.

This explains some of my recent email traffic.

A double ear infection is twice the fun of a regular ear infection. My body is at war with me. Also, I left my phone in a Lyft today. Let me tell you. The customer service at Lyft HQ? If my driver hadn't been so cool, that fucker (my phone) would be long gone. One day at a time. Got this.

My Lyft driver today had a dent in his car from being hit by an unmarked LE vehicle in DC. They suspected the folks he picked up were "illegal aliens," and with MPD's help, pulled him over and demanded his passengers exit. He refused to unlock his doors and they threatened to break his windows.

Fixed it: We should help people who need it. 40MM people rely on foodstamps to survive. We should get off our asses. Do our job. Stop perpetuating lies. Change our shitty culture. Stop taking everything for ourselves. If we aren't working for you, we aren't doing our jobs.

Got myself out of bed and out of the safety of my house today to go for a silly little walk. All on my own. Proud of me. A reminder to myself in better times (when I find my pride at this laughable) to take it easy. And hopefully a reminder in the bad times that it only *feels* impossible.

I wish I didn't have to be so "all or nothing" with the news. Like, paying attention to only the news that is personally important to me should be a workable compromise. But everything that is going om feels personally important to me and all of it is so damn upsetting.
