Proof that everyone in Seattle loves Josh Naylor: Tucker the clubhouse dog is famously standoffish. Naylor just appeared at the end of the hallway and Tucker bounded over to him to do doggie happy circles around him and followed him back to his locker.

Logan Gilbert's six-month old son Henry is not crawling yet, but is very close. He really wants him to start on this homestand so he doesn't miss it. I suggested he hook Henry up to Winnie, his French bulldog, Iditarod-style, to see if that would get him going. He said he'd consider it.

On the minor-league side: Miles Mastrobuoni is on track for a return to gameplay mid-June. Patrick Wisdom is close to being activated. Will Wilson's latest x-rays showed good healing in his thumb, and he'll ramp up baseball activities in the coming weeks.

Victor Robles will continue to play in rehab games with Tacoma through this weekend and early next week and is likely to be activated for the road trip to Kansas City.

Gabe Speier feels like he "turned a corner" in his rehab last week and is going to throw a bullpen on Sunday, per Justin Hollander. If that goes well, he'll have a rehab outing on Wednesday the 20th, at Everett.

Matt Brash had a successful rehab outing last night but it was very cold in Tacoma and the team is monitoring how he bounces back from it carefully. They're waiting to make a decision on activating him on Sunday or giving him one more rehab outing until they reassess with the high performance group.

Cal Raleigh will have a shot today in his injured oblique and then be shut down for a week, minimum, until the lingering soreness is gone, at which point the team will re-evaluate and hopefully have him begin baseball activities again.

Dan Wilson confirms the Mariners will be putting Luis Castillo and Bryce Miller in a "piggyback" start situation moving forward, although hasn't said yet who will be the starter and who will relieve.
