The president of the United States just declared war, actual military war, not a metaphorical one, on a major American city, and one governed by his political opponents. In any other period, this would be impeachment-worthy.

Charlie Kirk called me a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘prostitute’ and demanded I be deported. Nothing, *nothing*, justifies killing him, or robbing his kids of their dad. We don’t know the identity or motive of the shooter but murder can *never* be the response to political disagreements.

Next time someone on the right claims all the political violence in this country is coming from the left, not the right, do please show them this. You're welcome

I don’t want to depress you all but the entire media and political class will have moved on from this latest Trump racist outburst by tomorrow, Monday at the very latest. He gets away with it every time - because he is allowed to get away with it, and because he floods the zone.

Please, please, media outlets, remember the C word: context. You can’t discuss Trump’s apes post - or his ‘blame a staffer’ excuse - if you’re not also factoring in and reminding your viewers/readers about his birtherism, his ‘send her back’ remarks, him calling Somalis ‘low IQ’.
