I think it's a sign of how cowed the American media is that we're getting pieces like "you have to understand, in Korean culture, it's considered very rude for someone to lock you in a brutal prison camp for a week for no reason." Like yeah, any free people would be offended by that?

the media don't and never cared about "supporting the troops." it was a weapon they used to hit anti-war politicians whenever they had the temerity to vote against unlimited funding for wars and nothing more. a big joke they all laugh about.

I think contrary to popular wisdom, the best podcast/tv show etc host combinations are actually two hosts who are really similar to each other, not two hosts with very distinct/opposite personalities that compliment one another.
