It is March 2, 2025. My plan was to leave the world on March 2, 2024. What a difference in a year. I still have bad days. But reasons to stay are easier to find each day. Thankful for family, for friends, for library kids who ARE going to save the world. Once a library kid, always a library kid 💚

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜 The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization. Enter Dorothy B. Porter 🧵

On May 24, 2022, nineteen 4th graders and two teachers were murdered in a school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. They were so much more than that devastating day. They loved life, they had favorite things, they’ll always be beloved 💚 Eternally cherished, forever in our hearts 💛

Dear Islamic neighbors, Muslim neighbors, We do not hate you. Islamic Center of San Diego shooting is despicable & heartbreaking. I’m so sincerely sorry the world is such a mess. There are no right words to give the loved ones of those killed, to give to San Diego 💔 Hope persists beyond hate ❤️‍🩹
