The U.S. Department of Justice is threatening Victims of Crime Act funds to get states to assist with immigration enforcement. In New York, over $212 million in funds are at stake. I'm fighting back so New Yorkers can access the support they need.

A judge ruled that birthright citizenship will remain protected nationwide.   As we have repeatedly said, birthright citizenship is the law of the land, and we'll keep fighting to uphold it.   No president can rewrite the Constitution with the stroke of a Sharpie.

There is no place in our nation for a secret police force operating in the shadows and pulling people off the streets in unmarked cars.   Congress must ensure law enforcement, including ICE, is held to basic standards of transparency, accountability, and respect for civil rights.
