I was privileged to know Gene Hackman because he played tennis with another Gene—Gene Wilder. And that Gene told him about a little role called The Blind Hermit in our movie YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN…

David Lynch - A huge and sad loss. A remarkably unique and very talented filmmaker. It was such a truly great pleasure to work with him. If his name was in the credits, you knew the film was really worth seeing. I will miss him.

I think I first met Alan Yentob when he came over from the BBC to interview me for an episode of ARENA titled “I Thought I Was Taller: A Short History of Mel Brooks” around 1980. He was so bright and warm and engaging, I immediately knew I had found an important friend.

So sorry to hear about Charles Strouse. I worked with Lee Adams, Joshua Logan, and Charles (who we all called Buddy) on a musical starting Ray Bolger, ALL AMERICAN, in which he wrote the unforgettable song “Once Upon A Time”.

This week only you can get the e-book of my memoir, “ALL ABOUT ME! My Remarkable Life in Show Business” for only $2.99! (So my advice is to buy it, and then maybe sell it for $3.99…) t.co/duOTgAzi4h

So very sorry to hear about Teri Garr’s passing. She was so talented and so funny. Her humor and lively spirit made the YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN set a pleasure to work on. Her “German” accent had us all in stitches! She will be greatly missed.
