Amid all the fuss, remember that for much of the 1960s and 1970s, "the Spare" Andrew Windsor was just one unfortunate incident away from being the next king. Hopefully, this appalling saga will lead to a proper national debate on our hereditary monarchy. Long, long overdue.

Fantastic news this. There is, however, a "but." Andrew should have been stripped of his titles, his privilege and his place in the pecking order years ago. This is the Firm desperately and ruthlessly distancing itself from its most obviously toxic member... because it has to in order to survive.
