Glad the Apollo 13 movie is getting reruns lately. This scene is even more moving today: right, Tom Hanks playing Jim Lovell; left, cameo appearance by actual Jim Lovell (1928 Mar 25 - 2025 Aug 7).

Successful flight 10 of Starship; 8 dummy Starlinks deployed, in-space Raptor restart, reentry and soft landing in Indian Ocean. Partial structural failure of aft skirt at T+47m, some minor flap damage, but overall a good flight putting the program back on track.

The deorbit burn of the Ariane 6 upper stage occurred at 0235 UTC Aug 13 (10.35 pm EDT Aug 12). Spinup and propellant dump at about 0245 UTC was widely observed in the eastern US and Canada as Ariane 6003 headed north and downhill for reentry over the Indian Ocean half an orbit later

Three of the four Artemis II cubesats were meant to fire propulsion systems to raise perigee and stay in orbit. Only one (Saudi Arabia's SWC-1) managed to do so; TACHELES and K-RadCube reentered at first perigee.

Glad to see the capsule is "Stable One". (There are two stable positions for a capsule after splashdown. "Stable Two" is NASA speak for "upside down".)
